About 11 days ago I fell face first and hit my head over my left brow bone, and I developed 2 black eyes which are still apparent. I slowly started to have a bump form. The bump is bigger than a bottle cap. What do I do if it doesn’t go away?
Trauma to the head can range from very minor to very serious. Blood can collect between the skin of the scalp and the skull and cause a significant swelling – this is called a scalp hematoma. While the swelling itself will gradually go away with time, it may indicate a more serious head injury such as a concussion. If you have any concerns about your head, or are having any symptoms such as confusion, dizziness, blurred vision, memory loss, headaches, excessive sleepiness, or change in your moods, you should see a health care provider right away.
