I am feeling really tired all the time, quite thirsty, nauseous and vomiting. I’m not peeing often, but when I am, it is longer than usual. These are all symptoms of diabetes, but I don’t know how to ask my parents to take me to the hospital.

Thanks for your question. Many different things, including diabetes, can cause your symptoms. Whenever you are having symptoms, it is a good idea to talk to your health care provider. They can help you decide what to do next. They can also help diagnose whether you have a problem, and can help figure out the best treatment.

When people are having new symptoms they can sometimes be worried or afraid about going to see a health care provider. This is normal.

We recommend letting your parents know you are not feeling well, and scheduling an appointment with your primary health care provider. Make sure to tell your health care provider about your symptoms, and that you are worried about having diabetes.
