There are certain times when you may be less hungry than usual such as when you are sick, when you are less active or when you are feeling down. Your appetite may also be affected by any new medicines you might be taking. Occasional loss of appetite is normal but if it lasts longer than a couple of weeks or you notice that you are losing weight, you should make an appointment with your health care provider because there are some medical problems that can cause lack of appetite. In the meantime, try to be more physically active. Your body naturally craves “energy” in the form of calories from food. When you burn calories your body will need more energy so you will likely feel hungry.
