Congrats on wanting to make sure your body is healthy. The amount of time between stimulation and when you ejaculate is considered your ejaculatory latency time. Ejaculatory latency time can be affected by many things, including pelvic floor muscle strength, nerve sensitivity, mood, and/or the given situation. The good news is there a few different options for treatment. You can try pelvic floor exercises. These are the muscles you would use to stop urinating or to not pass gas. You can:
- Tighten your pelvic muscles for a few seconds.
- Relax the muscles for a few seconds.
- Repeat a few times in a row.
You can then do this set of exercises a few times a day. You can also talk to your healthcare provider about medicines, such as creams or pills (called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, SSRIs). Some people may find it helpful to talk to their healthcare provider or a therapist about their techniques they can try to delay ejaculation.
