Early teens tend to be very unsure of themselves and often feel awkward around others, especially when they feel an attraction. The more you practice smiling and saying “hey” when you see the girl, the more comfortable you will become. If you feel anxious all the time, even at home and with friends, it would be a good idea to talk to a counselor soon. Even if you just want some help with social situations, a counselor can help with techniques to help you feel more comfortable. Your parent or guardian, school counselor, and health care provider are good places to start.
