I woke up this morning with a bump on my forehead; I thought that I must have hit it by accident, but the bump grew bigger and redder. I thought it was a pimple so I popped it with a needle, but only a sticky, clear, liquid came out… What’s wrong?
Only your personal health care provider (HCP) can tell for sure, but there are a few possibilities. You may have had a pimple, a small skin infection, or even a bump that was caused by hitting your head on something. The fluid that came out was likely pus, or fluid which accumulates when a part of your body is irritated.
If the redness and swelling hasn’t gotten better within a few days, has gotten worse, of you’ve developed a fever; see your HCP right away.
Trying to pop something yourself is risky and can cause an infection. If you ever have a problem like this, see your HCP first before doing anything.
