Try to think of eating the rainbow and getting different colors from different types of produce. Pair these with whole grains (such as oats, brown rice, quinoa, whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta) and protein foods (such as beans, legumes, tofu, meat, fish, dairy). Stay hydrated daily by drinking plenty of water as well as milk or calcium-fortified juice. Even when eating a healthy diet you might need additional vitamins or other supplements such as folic acid. Be sure to ask your health care provider if you need any special supplements.
