Thanks for your question. Many people have concerns about their penis, such as its size, length, or shape. A slight curve can be normal, and often is. However a larger curve in the penis can be due to:
- A congenital problem, which means the person was born with it
- The forming of scar tissue inside the penis, such as in Peyronie’s disease
- An injury
- Or another issue.
A large curve in the penis can sometimes cause pain in the penis, problems urinating (or peeing), problems masturbating, problems ejaculating, problems pulling down foreskin (if uncircumcised), or pain with sex.
If you notice your penis has a curve it’s important to speak to a healthcare provider to figure out if it’s normal, or if you need treatment.
